A Message from Father Joseph Upton…

Many, many thanks for your expressions of congratulations and best wishes for me on the occasion of my Ordination to the Priesthood.  I am especially grateful to Monsignor Bastia, not only for his guidance and support over the last several years, but for vesting me at my Ordination, for his presence at my First Mass, and his very kind words in last week’s bulletin.

I am also truly indebted to Donald Dame, our outstanding parish organist, for lending his talents at the organ during my First Mass on June 27th. Many thanks as well to the members of our parish choir who sacrificed their time and talent to sing for my First Mass.  Your presence meant so much to me personally and greatly enhanced the quality of our worship.

I would also like to thank all those members of the parish who attended the Ordination and First Mass, or who have since offered their congratulations and best wishes.  I am truly grateful for the many gifts, cards, and especially the prayers of this community of faith.

Be assured of my prayers for you as I begin my first priestly assignment at Saint Francis of Assisi in Wakefield and the Prout School.  Please pray for me, that I may be a priest after the Heart of Christ.  I look forward to seeing you sometime in the future, when I will return to celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving.

Fondly yours in Christ,

Father Joseph Upton
